Alternative strategies of for-profit, not-for-profit and state-owned Nepalese microfinance institutions for poverty alleviation and women empowerment

Microfinance is the provision of financial services to disadvantaged people and financially excluded, often with a social mission poverty alleviation women empowerment. There are many different forms microfinance institutions (MFIs): for-profit, not-for-profit state-owned, all which use strategies improve socio-economic status their clients. The objective this paper examine alternative MFIs in Nepal. Primary data was collected through structured questionnaires from 240 clients three MFIs. Parametric non-parametric tests, exploratory factor analysis have been applied for analysis. results show that segmentation clients, focusing on income levels, total consumption number children.
